Downpour

I went out for my photo at lunch as usual. It was overcast and there was a light drizzle. I thought I'd see if anything was going on at India Point, since getting shots of folks dealing with the weather can always be interesting. I parked my car - that's "Pahked m'cah" for my fellow Rhode Islanders - got my camera out of the backpack and headed into the park. That's when the skies opened up. Within seconds, I was completely drenched. I could not have gotten any wetter had I waded into the river. This photo - when viewed large - shows the driving rain that completely transformed today's shot. Fortunately, I only lived about 15 minutes from this spot so I was able to stop home, change into dry clothes, and still get back to work before my next meeting.

Post processing started with a high contrast detailed filter in Topaz B&W Effects. I made slight adjustments to the adaptive exposure and contrast sliders. In PSE I applied a cooling filter to enhance the low lying fog.
