The CVS Caremark 5K was held in downcity Providence this morning. The event is one of the premier 5K road races in New England and historically draws some top talent from around the nation. The men's race was won by Ben True in a very respectable 13:52.0 and US Olympian Molly Huddle took the women's division in 15:29.9.
Like most big-name races, the event draws competitors of all abilities and ages. Many local schools fielded teams that ran as a unit in various costumes. Today's photo shows a team from Cranston West High School, dressed as sailors and competing in the appropriately named "S.S. Falcon." (The school's nickname is the Falcons.) This crew didn't win, but as you can see from the smiles, they had a great time at the event.
Post processing today was primarily in Topaz Adjust. I started with a simple pop filter, and then adjusted the adaptive exposure, adaptive saturation, contrast, strength, and detail boost sliders. In PSE, I used Neat Image to reduce noise, and then applied a levels adjustment.
