An Empty Beach by kannafoot

An Empty Beach

It always amazes me how our outdoor behavior is driven more by the calendar than by the thermometer. Today was 70 degrees, a bit breezy, but - until early afternoon - sunny. If this shot were taken 3-weeks ago, this beach would be packed. It's after Labor Day, though, so it's no longer considered beach weather! Never mind the fact that the water temperature in September and October is the highest of the year in Rhode Island. So today, Olney Pond at Lincoln Woods State Park is reserved for the ducks and geese. In fact, only a handful of people were even out jogging or walking on the perimeter road. It's all about the calendar.

Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W Effects. I adjusted the contrast, boost black, boost white, adaptive exposure, strength, and detail boost sliders. I also heavily adjusted the individual color sensitivity sliders to enhance contrast and detail. In PSE I applied a levels adjustment and added a sepia photo filter.
Gorgeous sephia photo - love the composition.
