Our journey today takes us back to the 19th century. Along historic Great Road in Lincoln, at the gateway to Chase Farm, sits Hannaway's Blacksmith Shop. This shop opened in 1870 and remained in operation into the 1920s. The increasing popularity of the automobile, however, resulted in an increasing decline in the need for private blacksmithing. This shop is now owned by the City of Lincoln and is open every weekend for blacksmithing demonstrations and classes.
