I stopped by Crescent Park at lunch, planning to photograph people enjoying the beautiful spring weather. Instead, I spotted this American Robin perched on a branch with the American Flag billowing in the background. I couldn't resist taking the shot, especially since the bird was most cooperative about posing through numerous exposures. Back at work, I mentioned the shot to a coworker and noted that I normally don't photograph common birds. I was rather surprised when he told me that he never saw robins when he lived in southern California. They are so plentiful here in the northeast that I assumed they were abundant throughout the US. Apparently not.
Post processing started with a detail light filter in Topaz Adjust. I then adjusted adaptive exposure, regions, and contrast. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
