Yoga at Dawn by kannafoot

Yoga at Dawn

Knowing that my entire day would be consumed by meetings, I stopped at India Point Park on my way into work. The plan was to photograph the fishermen that I knew would be on the docks, and with an interesting sunrise as a backdrop, I thought it would prove to be a good composition. Much to my delight, there was a yoga class in progress on those same docks. They were positioned such that the glow from the rising sun was directly behind them. I underexposed a bit to emphasize the glow and keep them in shadow, and for the composition I did have to lie down on the docks (which drew a few stares) but the end result was far better than planned when I first thought of stopping here.

Post processing started with a brilliant warm filter in Topaz Adjust. I then adjusted adaptive exposure, regions, and contrast. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.

Here's the high res version in Smugmug: http://kannafoot.smugmug.com/Photo-Challenges/PAD2013/i-FFhP9RF/0/XL/2013%2008%2022_0018%20copy-XL.jpg
Ah, my favorite yoga position - no balance required. :D The high res version is really great. You've put a lot of thought into the composition.. and what a beautiful sky!
