18th Century Burial Plots

This small section in the North Burial Ground in Providence is home to some prominent 18th century families. Captain Stephen Olney, who's grave is on the right, was a hero of the American Revolution. He was part of the siege of Yorktown and is referenced in numerous biographies about the event that effectively won American independence. The large chapel in the background is part of the Brown family plot. Virtually no part of Rhode Island's history can be discussed without the Brown family coming into prominence.

Today's photo is a HDR composite of 9 separate images with an exposure range across 8 stops. The images were processed in Photomatix Pro with care being taken to maintain a natural appearance to the resulting photograph. The 16-bit tonemapped TIF was then brought into PSE. A detail light filter was applied with the Topaz Adjust plug-in, and adaptive exposure, regions, and contrast were adjusted. A levels adjustment was added back in PSE.
