It's been a while since I used my 16-35mm, so I thought I'd take it out for today's photo. I headed over to Haines Park in Barrington, knowing there would still be a few small rowboats tethered on shore. The boaters with permanent moorings here use these boats to get to and from their sailboats or cabin cruisers. With the 16-35, I was able to get right up on top of the boat in the foreground for today's image. I like the extreme depth that type of composition provides, and there were enough small boats in the foreground to make it interesting.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment and a sepia photo filter were added in PSE.
