I went downcity at lunch today to do a bit of street photography, and on a whim I reversed the direction I normally walk when I do this mid-week. It's amazing how reversing a route can provide entirely different perspectives. I've seen this intersection numerous times, but always from the other direction. Seeing it today, I was struck by the geometric shapes in the buildings across the river, and new immediately it would make an interesting black and white. All I need do is wait for some people to add a bit of action to the photo. Amazingly, there's very little daytime traffic in this area, and it was relatively easy to capture these business men crossing in different directions while another woman is standing patiently at a bus stop.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, boost white, brightness, protect highlights, and the color sensitivity sliders. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
I like how crisp the shot is
