I went to the Mystic Seaport today for some candid photography along the historic waterfront. This gentleman was on board one of the schooners answering questions about life at sea. His features suggest a lifetime on the ocean, and I couldn't resist taking this profile. If Hemingway ever visited Mystic, this is how I would picture him.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, boost black, boost white, contrast, protect highlights, and details. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
