6. Hello

At 3 months, I came to the US by plane and landed in the arms of my family.
At 24, I wrote to my birth parents for the first time.
At 27, I got this tattoo, "I love you" in Korean in my birth mother's handwriting.

This is my first attempt at a self portrait. It's very difficult, I may need to invest in a remote!
Great self portrait. Love the crop and processing :)

This is a beautiful self portrait. As for the remote, I got a small handheld thing on amazon that looks like a car key clicker and it works great. It wasn't more than $10

Hello, Kara! Welcome to 365! Your project struck me this Sunday afternoon, while reviewing the latest entries. Interestingly, I, too, am a speech-language pathologist, coffee addict, but only one dog (and two cats), a wife, three grown children, two awesome and amazing grandchildren. :- )
I love the way you have introduced your family (canine and human)! Your story from this photo struck me most! I work with several children are adopted, my son and daughter-in-law are exploring international adoption and a new family at church in Sunday School today have an adopted child from India. But I have rarely heard the "after" story of contacting your birth mom. Hope you will share more of the story through your wonderful writing and creative photography! Welcome!! Gary

@thewatersphotos Gary, thanks for reaching out and connecting! I'm glad to share with you more of my story, as everyone's adoption story is quite unique. Contacting my birth family became very important to me in my adult life, but I know many friends who are adopted who are still not interested in opening up contact with their biological families. Also, great to meet a fellow SLP here!!! :)
