Community Oriented. . .

the way a church should be.

I don't know if you can see the print on the very side of this vehicle but this is what it says:
"Mobilizing healing for the community with medicine and prayer."

Also, I found this on our church website:
"We are not about “doing church.” Instead, we are completely focused on “being the church.” That distinction is crucial to those who are in need. We are the body of Christ—the hands that reach out and the voice of hope—in Tucson and the surrounding communities."
Mobile medical unit?

@kimmistephens Yup! That is how I believe it works!! It was parked by the church this morning giving out free flu shots (no, I didn't get one)!

That is both an amazing picture and an amazing thing. I love the angle on the picture. Imo, the white and silver front of the trailor really frame the orange and the couple people on the side give it a great feeling of being active. It's always great to see people willing to give of their time to help others.

A really good service for a community--is it sliding scale or completely free?

@clarissajohal I'm not completely sure but my understanding was that it was completely free!! I'm new to this church and so just found out that they do this today when I saw the truck giving free flu shots in front of the church. I love the fact that they do things like this!!

What a great idea. My church supports the free clinic and takes a turn housing the homeless in the winter but we don't have the resources or medical professionals in our congregation for such an ambitious project. So worthwhile. And a great picture too, telling the story.

Kerri, thanks for asking. It is coming along, slow but sure. I still must be careful how I turn and sit because it goes into a spasm really quickly. I am hoping it soon lets up. Back to work tomorrow, but in my role I can delegate work, so I can take it easy, if I remember. It is just going to take time.

It is definitely a great ministry and so many can benefit from something like this.

Good to see volunteers assisting those in need. Great theme shot, to work in service of others rather than to serve ones own needs is a noble endeavor.

Wow! This is great! So nice of people to do the things like this!

Love your commentary -- and what you say is soooo true.

That's excellent. I saw a church vehicle recently that said, "A church for people like you." But I want a church for ME...not for people like me... :)
