Sunny Sandpiper by lauriehiggins

Sunny Sandpiper

I'm back to shore birds because storms really get this guys moving. I believe this is a semipalmated sandpiper and they are quite shy and move like lightning.

I'm dedicating this one to Brian (@buccigrossi) because he posts beautiful birds every day and is a talented enough avian photographer to illustrate a book for Audubon.
Wow, such clear details on zoom. You really must have gotten close to this guy. They do move so fast, so good job catching him so well. He's a beauty.

I'm sure they are able to find plenty to snack on.

OMG...I really did not notice that the horse photo is my 300th. Thanks for pointing that out.
This little guy is so cute, and yes, I have seen how fast they are... Making this a really great shot.:-)

@christiehicks I was on the beach for over an hour and took 350 photos. This was the best one. They really are tricky, but I kind of loved the challenge. I was so focused on the birds, that the waves got me several times and I had very wet feet by the time I was done. The big zoom lens helps a ton.

@5unflow3r Now that's funny, because you reminded me that my photo yesterday was #300. Kind of cool that both our real life and 365 birthdays are so close together.

Great clarity on this Sandpiper! I posted birds tonight! Great minds with great initials again! 350 shots--you have way more patience than I do! :-)

@sandier Sorry for the confusion - I think Brian is talented enough to actually do a project like that, but I don't think he has.

@pwallis Paula, This project has changed my life in so many ways. I hit a bump in the road three or four weeks ago and took a step back to think about what 365 really meant to me. During that time a few people reached out to me and dedicated photos to me and it touched me so much - that they were there with me on this journey and that they cared. I'm just paying it forward, and looking for photos that remind me of the people on here I'm close to has really energized my project.
