Ombledroom, "vast and white, and therefore visible at night"
This is Ombledroom, a 27 pound cat, who was adopted by the staff at the Edward Gorey House Museum in Yarmouth Port and named after a character in one of Gorey's alphabet books.
I'm dedicating this photo to Trina (@5unflow3r), because I know she loves cats and she drove to the Cape to meet me today for a fabulous day of shooting photos at the Gorey House and the Sandwich Glass Museum. We had a lot of fun!
He's an awesomely awesome cat. I love the expression on his face, & how he was do at home in the museum house. The meet up was so much fun and I'm looking forward to another one soon.
@lorihiro@digitalrn@ellen@sunnygreenwood Yep, 27 pounds. He was enormous! Gorey left all his money to the Animal Rescue League and the museum has an adopt a pet day once a year. This guy was so fat he could barely walk so no one wanted him. They decided to keep him themselves. He's really very sweet.
That sounds like fun! I really like Gorey. I have no idea what a Sandwich Glass Museum is though, I'll have to look it up now. What a handsome kitty!! He looks more muscle than um, what my cats have on them, lol. Stray cat, "I must eat everything including what's in the kitchen sink-itis," I swear.
@clarissajohal You're not a dork! Try navigating a glass museum with a giant camera backback! Luckily all the glass is safely displayed behind glass. Trina took a photo of this cat in all his chubby glory, so maybe she will post it. @5unflow3r
he looks a bit forlorn, doesn't he? I can't believe he's 27 lbs! Ruby is already 24 and I can't imagine her being a cat! that's nuts!! how fun that you and Trina got together!!
