Today, I got a notice that I hadn't paid my DWP bill. Since I couldn't find the actual bill and their web site was malfunctioning, I had to pay in person. When I arrived, I was heartened to see the wonderful mid-century building was still completely in tact. Los Angeles was once covered in character-laden architecture, though much of it has been replace by bland, space-saving malls and generic buildings. In t he past, I may have not given this place a second look. Today, I found it beautiful.
