I found the mostly-retired Pioneer Pete tonight, moonlighting as China King in Buena Park, CA. For those who aren't familiar with Pioneer Pete, he was the covered wagon riding mascot for Pioneer Chicken, Only 4 remain of the 270 that once existed in Southern California, Hawaii and a single outlet (still operational) in China, making this custom-shaped sign for a Chinese restaurant somewhat ironic.
