No One to Play With

I'm trying to get an "Emotions" shot and have only a couple more days. I'm thinking the playground may be overpowering the little girl. I welcome all comments and criticisms.
it works for me maybe you could have gone a bit closer to her lower down with the playground in the background? I dont know if this was staged or a candid capture if it was candid you probably wouldnt want to get too close

@sueh Thanks, Sue. This is one of my friends granddaughter so I might try your idea again this evening. I appreciate your thoughts on this as I had considered this as well after viewing larger on the computer.

Looks like your trying to capture sadness maybe, but it isn't really coming through on this shot. I agree with Sue, maybe if you really got closer and focused on her. Maybe have her fake tears or something and capture those.

"No one else to play with?" could be the theme. Emotions are always involved with that theme.

Hmm, well, I'm going to be odd person out and say that I like the longer view of the playground -- shows the emptiness, kind of plays off desolation and aloneness.

@ariel817 Thanks Linda for your comments. I'm not sure which way to go yet - leave it alone or zoom in more on the child. But now I have decided a judge would probably say it looks like a pole is growing out of the child's head. LOL

(Chuckle) I didn't notice the pole. I don't think it's that bad!

That's a hard choice -- I get the idea that zooming in on her would make her more immediate, more focused upon -- but like I said, the emptiness of the playground (to me) adds to the overall feeling.

@ariel817 Thanks, Linda. I think I'll use it as is. I would like her a little larger in the photo but I agree the empty playground does add to the story of loneliness.
