We spent quite a lot of the time in the studio doing stuff like this... Here, Clive and Simon are creating sound effects by tuning and re-tuning a guitar, as it's feeding back, while thumping the back of the body and neck with their fists... Pretty avant garde stuff, eh?
This is actually where a lot of the "weirdness" of Witchers tracks comes from - it's pretty cool just to mess around with different ideas, and leave some mics up and a desk running, to capture all the crazy sounds and effects that come out of the experimenting...
