Where the river meets the sea

Well... Almost!

Here we are, standing on the banks of the lowest reaches of the River Yare, at the entrance to the town of Great Yarmouth - known locally as "Yark"... Practically a stone's throw away from where the river does actually flow into the North Sea...

We're looking upstream, towards the Breydon Bridge, and, beyond that, to the expanse of Breydon Water, in all the glory of a rising tide...

I drive over the bridge quite often (although not as often as I used to, when I went to college in Gorleston) and whenever it's a bright, sunny, breezy day, I always think how beautiful Breydon looks, shimmering in the sunlight, rippling in the wind... So, today, I finally stopped to take some photos! I parked in the ASDA carpark, which is right by the water, climbed over the sea wall, and started snapping away - it was lovely!

In fact, I got a lot of nice shots from this, and it was quite hard to pick this one... So, for the first time ever, I am going to show case a few of the "rejects" on my blog... (Go to http://manek43509.blogspot.com/ if you're interested in seeing them!)

Anyway - it's a beautiful day here, and I hope that comes across in the picture... :)
Love Breydon Water...and we park in Asda too.:-) It's a good place for birding. Yes I think you've captured an open sunny East Anglia day!
