Pruning the tree

These municipal workers have spent the morning pruning the branches of the trees along this street - it was high time! Lots of people walk there for exercise, and when it gets dark the branches were so thick they didn't let the light from streetlamps through.

From the pile they cut off I can see how dense the trees were.
