Today, while I was out shopping, I was told about the new wheel cufs that are on shopping trolleys to stop them from being stolen. They allow you to get about 100 metres from your shopping centre before putting on the brakes - in a literal sense - and stopping you from taking them any further.
Sounds frustrating, but it's a very simple and useful tool to keep the trolley where it's supposed to be. These have been applied to not only the Woolworths trolleys but the Coles ones too.
