Yesterday, Mum and I were off into the city to a Bookcrossing Meet-Up at O'Malleys Pub in the Wintergarden Centre. It was a lovely day out - if not a little on the chilly side with a cold breeze - but once inside the place and snug in the corner The Library, we were right at home chatting to other Bookcrossers about books, reading, and other things in life!
We had lunch there - where most of the ladies had Guinness Pie each (and pictured there was a small one!) and I had a small plate of potato wedges which I couldn't finish. It was a great afternoon of book trading and laughs.
Mum and I arrived home at around 4:30pm but both of us couldn't eat dinner because we were so full!
Writer, poet, artist and prolific reader.... that's me.
I'm a collector of books, vinyls, coin purses and strange handbags... that's me too.
Otherwise, I love...
Wow. What a wonderful time! This is a beautiful collage. The pie looks delicious. Glad you and your mum had such a great time together. I need to go to one of the conventions one day.
@mozette - Met an out of town friend for breakfast recently. Agreed to meet at a pancake house in Hollywood called The Griddle Cafe. Tiny cramped space. What they lacked in roominess, they made up for in the size and variety of their flapjacks. I got a short stack (just 2) of their fried banana pancakes.
They were served on a 10" / 254 mm plate. The pancakes overlapped its edges! Glad I only got the short stack! I took half of it home and it was *still* a huge portion. My friend, a wee tiny person, got the Red Velvet pancakes. I took one bite to taste it. Wow. With syrup, it was diabetes on a fork. Don't get me wrong. It was delicious, but waaaaay too sweet.
@beteljooz Wow! The name sounds very cool... but by the way you've described it, I think I'd get just the plain ol' short stack of pancakes with maple syrup thanks. :D
looks like a great day. haven't been doing much with my bookcrossing. It seems that I can't keep up with more than one (or maybe two) online activity at any one time. Still reading though.
But she couldn't finish it because it was too much.
