Over on blipfoto, a few of us took a delight in finding beautiful fields full of poppies at this time of year.
I don't know why the Lichfield opium crop is not luring us with its usual beauty, but finding a stunning field full of poppies in Staffordshire is proving tricky.
Poppies usually take over where there has been major disruption to the soil - and we have had our fair share of roadworks this year too !
I spotted a flare of red when I was driving away from Elford yesterday and I will go back to check it out. This morning, on my way back from Waitrose, I noticed some red corners in the fields by the roundabout where the poppies stopped the traffic last year.
I had no challengers for a photo this morning. I had the only safe pull in spot all to myself.
