This little spray of daisies and moss cover a concrete base which was the roof of an old WW2 air raid shelter.
It has long since been filled in for safety reasons but I remember spending many happy hours playing in here with my childhood friends and my sister.
Daisies always look so cheerful. I too have childhood memories of the wartime air raid shelters. There are still some near here (land to the north of us was an airfield used to maintain Halifax bombers during the war).
