The blue pinwheel is the new national symbol for child abuse prevention in the U.S. For the month of April, this simple child's toy, which represents a carefree and happy childhood, is being used to raise awareness for the issue of child abuse and neglect in communities across the country. I think it's a powerful symbol and such an important cause. I was immediately drawn to this display of hundreds spinning in the wind this morning.
It's been a busy day and I haven't had a chance to visit your albums. I already miss seeing what you all have been up to! I look forward to catching up with your photos this weekend.
i saw a few of these here at home, a great way symbol for this cause.
my office used to adjoin the Child Protection Staff in my county......it is heartbreaking the things that happen to children. I saw and heard more than I ever wanted to. My hat's off to CPS staff everywhere.
Oh, Lisa, this is so great. Love your dof. Thank you for raising attention to this horrible problem that needs to be alleviated. I had not heard that the U.S. is using the pinwheel as a symbol.
I did not know about this. after reading your comments, the picture has incredible meaning. Thanks for sharing, and it must have been amazing and moving to see hundreds.
