Not much time for photos today, but a patch of wild cornflowers and poppies on the side of the road caught my attention as I was driving by. My 12 year old son was reasonably patient with me to stop for a few snaps. Recently he announced that he wanted a shock collar for me so that whenever I begin to veer off on photo tangents, he could zap me to my senses! Funny boy. I would venture to guess that a lot of our family members could get on board with this!
Yes! My family would Appreciate a device to stop me from embarrassing them in public by crouching down, and many other lovely poses to get the angle I prefer. Lol! This is a wonderful roadside find! It was worth the stop!! Those poppies are so pretty. I don't think we have any of those in Alabama. I'm sure I could be wrong. Lol
Such a beautiful shot. Love those colors. And, yes, I have to admit I am sure glad I do not have any teenagers right now--they wouldn't be very patient with me constantly stopping to take a shot!!!!
Another gorgeous shot! And I hope my husband never reads your son's idea as I'm sure he thinks it would be great for any family member to require this before having someone in the family sign up for 365!!
Beautiful photo, love the colours and the composition. Your son's comment made me laugh. My daughters are fairly patient but my son, 5, gets very cross when I stop to take photos
Gorgeous Lisa. Love your comp and POV, def worth stopping for. Ha ha, funny boy :-D Reckon your son could have a profitable biz idea aimed at 365 family members :-)
Good job you didn't miss this photo opportunity, it is excellent. Love the sense of wild and untouched. My family despair at me and sometimes block my lens if I go for a stranger shot!
A beautiful combination and that dark blue background works so well on this lovely composition. Shock collar indeed! Did have to laugh. I won't be telling my son about that one , just in case he gets ideas.
This is gorgeous, and I love the one pop of pink in particular. Let's hope they never get around to inventing that shock collar, or I think most of us would be in a world of trouble! My other half has established that he will continue to walk on without me when hiking, and I have agreed to simply scramble to make up for the lost time!
@archaeofrog lol .. my oh often leaves me trailing way behind when we are out walking /geocaching - he has often found the cache signed the log and replaced it before I arrive at gz
I laughed so hard, and read this to my husband. He said "That's what I'M talkin' bout!" haha So funny. He knows your son's pain. This pic was worth the stop. So gorgeous and your processing is terrific! fav
The positioning of the red poppy, and the buds leaning away from it makes this a beautiful composition. I wonder if a shock collar would burn out camera electronics? Double jeopardy.
Great shot! I love the way you process your colours Lisa. What do you use? My husband has learnt to always have the paper or technology along so he can read the news!
This is a beautiful composition Lisa, love the colours and light. A fav!
You need to get him a camera of his own, did make me laugh when I read your description.
@marie65 Thank you so much, Marie! Mostly i use Picasa for my editing. I like to add a little cross processing. In this shot, I also used Picmonkey for the "tranquil" layer which enhanced the blue cast. It's very sweet & supportive of your husband to bring reading material along to pass the time when you take photos!
wonderful composition! I spent the weekend in a fast moving vintage sports car on the most wonderful country roads just taking mental photos. We were traveling with others, so I couldn't yell "pull over!"
Haha... funny both my 9 year old and 3 year old are vexed up with my photo sessions especially because most of them involve them too. I use electronics time for my 9 year old and chocolates for my 3 year old to get them do what I want... (I know, shame :)).
This one is a fav for it's bright colors, sunny look, and not to mention excellent composition.

This is lovely, the mix of colours and the glowing poppy are so pretty.
I remember doing the same thing with my sons!
There could be a definite market for that device .. I know my grandkids would welcome one for me
