It's Own Bouquet of Mini-flowers

Had a crazy day with emergency sewer collapse in our property (made the hornet nest removal peanuts compared to what this cost us!) But as I was running to my neighbor's yard for their bathroom (really great neighbors), I still got distracted by this flower. Had to come back with my camera. Does anyone know what plant this is?
Don't know what it is sorry, but that is stunning. Fav for me. The little flowers looks like ribbons, and they look like they're exploding from the flower ball, great shot!

Lovely shot - I agree it looks like it's exploding! Could be a type of allium but I'm not a gardener so not sure!

What a wonderful capture. Beautiful focus and detail. I am not sure, but it looks like a type of alium. Ar the leaves straight like scallions or onions? Here is another alium variety: http://365project.org/falcon11/365/2011-06-06

Fantastic shot. Congrats on the PP!

@falcon11 @dolphin thanks! I don't think it is an allium variety (another plant that I really love the flowers). The leaves are not straight like allium. My neighbor also forgot what the name is but now she will be thinking about it, too :-)

@espyetta I saw it was featured on PP but when I looked last night, it was gone. I thought I missed it :-).

Its an Echinops, but not sure of the variety. I have lots in my garden; they are prolific and great architectural plants. Great image.
