The left one is more dramatic but the right one brings out the details better. Farmers have two ways to get the water for irrigation:
1. By collecting the rainwater (when it rains) into large wells - in fact may houses in Malta have their own well - I do but mine takes only around 600 gallons.
2. From bore holes which pump up water from the acquafer. You can read about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aquifer. Our government keeps a watch on the amount that is pumped up each year.

I love seeing the statues that you photograph, Ferry! I like the one on the left for showing the exaggerated form of many women in silhouette. The one on the right is nice for seeing the detailed work of the sculptor. I often take two differently lit images...and for the very reason you've done so here!
