We visited Burghley house today as the south gardens are open for a limited time. This is the view of the south aspect looking from the topiary. As a Stephen King fan it inevitably made me think of the Overlook hotel and the topiary animals that come alive at night hence the B&W edit :)
Wow what great composition of this beautiful home. Although, I don't know how hard it would be for me to call this home? It would take some getting used to because of its size. This would have been a great home for Downton Abbey.
@onewing It must we normally don't go in the house as its quite expensive but this year if you buy tickets in advance they convert it to a season pass so we can now visit as often as we like so expect many more pictures to come :)
It looks great from that angle! I visited for the first time last august, didn't like the house much (I always prefer the grounds!) but had a great few hours in the gardens!
I love everything about this. The drama in the sky, the line of the driveway leading into the image, the couple fire my curiosity and the building itself looks amazing.
