Wrong Turn

Visited Burghley House today to have a look at the south gardens which are only open for a few weeks. The daffodils are just coming into bloom a little late due to the cold. as we were admiring the view my wife spotted two muntjac deer racing across the grounds one of them turned towards us and I managed this quick shot just before it turned and ran off into the undergrowth at speed.
Lucky to capture it as they are usually elusive during the day with people around.

A nice spot. The deer looks quite small, at first l thought it was a dog...

It looks a peculiar shape, quite elongated!
