@kimmistephens I found him at the UC Irvine marshes, he was hunkered down under a Cottonwood tree. I think a Red-shouldered Hawk had just flown over and he was making himself less visible. When the threat was past he got up and displayed at me, a territorial statement I guess. Always a great day when I see one.
