This pear tree is located nearby the 9/11 memorial. About three weeks after the tragic events and collapse of both buildings, this tree was discovered nearby, with most of its branches gone and a few leaves remaining. It was removed, revived and replanted back near its original site in 2010.
I had no idea this tree was there, until I visited recently. Gotta love that wide angle lens, which let me get most of the scene within the field of vision.
Thanks very much for your kind reception of my Grand Central Station shot. We were running around a lot last weekend, so I am happy that it came out OK.
