Eyebrow, Raised by rosiekerr

Eyebrow, Raised

We were touring King John's Castle, Limerick, IE. Of course, as it was built over 800 years ago (overlooking the River Shannon), it has those tiny little defensive slits for shooting arrows through.

Pigeons have made good use of the vacant space, making nests in the castle slits. I was pleased to capture this fellow, giving me "the eye," through the grating, since I had to balance my camera on a knee and use manual focus.
Wonderful capture, Rosie!

Certainly was giving you the evil eye Rosie. I think those little slits are called embrasures.

I like the implied prison look. Are you just visiting Ireland or doing other places in Europe as well?

What a great expression! It's the kind of expression that brings a smile to my face. Well captured.
