Your'e back Matt......you must be a fish person! I heard a funny story last weekend about one of my friends who has a large goldfish in a simple tank with no fancy equipment. He is thirteen years old & wait for it......throws stones at her!! Apparently he goes to the bottom of the tank, picks up a stone or two in his mouth, comes to the top & spits them out at her! He does it if he wants his food....weird & it wasn't April Fools Day until the day after.
@happypat I think they are smarter than people tend to give them credit. That large white one in the photo when I change the water, sometimes I have to transfer all the fish to another tank. Now, most of the other fish thrash about in the net, and slightly panic while I momentarily transfer them (they never seem to learn and sometimes lose the odd scale because of it. Now matter how gently I may go about it) But, the large white fish (Ritz) it used to do that, and then it learned that it was a safe procedure, and now it remains perfectly still in the net so as not to accidentally injure itself. I think that one has a few more brains than the other fish.
