Difficult word to pronounce, isn’t it? It goes like this “’Jig-jee-fog-u’’and it is the Maltese corruption of the Italian phrase “Gioco di fuoco” meaning “Fire games”. In Maltese we also call them “ground fireworks” to distinguish them from the fireworks displays up in the sky. I have never managed to take a good shot of the ground fireworks – they are fast for a night shot and let out too much smoke.
These are my three attempts of last Saturday night’s.
A nice collage, Dione. I have never been a fan of ground fireworks. We have firework stands the week before the 4th of July that are sold to untrained people. A lot of times, it does not go well and with all the fires in California, I think they should be banned in the state. Plus, there are always illegal fireworks too. Leave it to the professionals up in the sky...prettier anyway...and not a fire hazard.
