Sam and Ben finished school for the summer holidays at lunchtime today.
The tie is from Loughborough Grammar School, and the green stripe denotes Abney House. Abney were crowned house champions again today, I don't think any other house has won it during Sam and Ben's time there. Their cousin Matthew joins the school, and Abney in september.
Sam isn't home yet, he has a sleep over in someones garden tonight (Heavy rain forecast!)
Ben and I enjoyed a very nice lunch at The Star in West Leake. We chatted about lots of things, it was a pleasurable couple of hours.
Ben is off to Barcelona with school on sunday for a week of watersports and sightseeing. Lucky boy!
For any football lovers, the coat hook on the back of Ben's door is from the changing rooms at The Dell, Southampton. I bought it at auction when the old ground was knocked down.
Ben is certain not to read this far, so I will share a secret with you reader. Thi smay be a dull photo, but it achieved the hidden objective of getting his jacket and tie hung up for the summer on the first day of the holidays!!
Love all the Englishness of this shot and description. I'm glad we've copied some of your school ways though I know my boys would rather not wear a tie! Congrats to your boys for another year finished and may the sun shine on their summer now!
@tulipgirl Thanks Alicia, I do hope the sun starts to shine for more than a day a week. The heating actually kicked in here overnight, it is that dull, damp and chilly!! Glad you like the Englishness of the shot.
For an Ohioan it is different to read about School with "Houses" Reminds me of Harry Potter.
Lucky boy indeed to get to go to Barcelona.
