Long and steep too. Sean I have not been on here much lately but just looked at your amazing B&W images for this month, am loving your street photography too, seems you are a man of many talents.
Great technique. Would love to know how you did it. Love the ghostly man ready to start up the escalator. The ghosts of all the artists standing by us as we admire the work... as emulated by the in focus people at the right with the ghosts walking by them.
@pam1 It is ever so easy Pam. I sat on the bench and positioned my camera on my knee in the absence of a conspicuous tripod. Then I set my aperture at f/18 and shutter speed at 2.5 seconds to get the movement without th ewhites burning the shot out. I composed it to include the people standing still as a shot like this is always better if there are people standing still in it. Then a conversion to B+W in Silver Efex Pro and voila, there you have it. This shot also works well if you have a high vantage point. I have several dotted through my albums, in february and at christmas last year.
Brilliant... where were those passers-by when I wanted them at the weekend?! Loved the Ansel Adams exhib btw I wonder if I can talk the kids into another exhib this holiday..?!
@filsie65 Cheers Phil, Yeah go for it, bribe them if you need to!! Next on my radar is the Bowie exhibition, but looks like we'll have to become members of the V+A to get there. There is a Photography gallery on Swallow St (between Regent St and Piccadilly. It is called Chris Beetles photography. It is always free to look around, and takes about 10-20 mins max. I have seen exhibitions by Magnum, Steve McCurry, Herbert Ponting (Scott's expedition to Antarctica) of late, and they are first class.
@seanoneill Aargh... I can't imagine the bill!! That's if they ever found their way out again (hmmm the idea is actually a little more appealing with that thought...!) George actually enjoyed the AAdams and went snapping around with me afterwards - Cath was in Paris with school she would definitely not have been so tolerant. (13...!)
