Toadie

Back in June when we started emptying the pond to fill in, I took a photo of a resident toad that was reluctant to leave and I admit I felt a bit bad for destroying it's home. Today while adding some compost to the flower bed where the pond used to be this little fella jumped out of nowhere to say hello (I jumped more!) but I'd like to think it's the same toad as before and not too worse for wear.

Looks like the same one to me! This is a fabulous close-up of him! Iā€™m glad he is still around!

Great shot. When my neighbour abandoned their pond the toads took refuge under sleepers in our garden. We have a thriving community but rarely see them. A bit unnerving as we hear them at night.

So glad that it lives on. Nice capture.

@wakelys I thought it was a stone initially and went to move it. Boy did I jump šŸ¤£ I'm also now trying to convince myself that we haven't got a community of them but I suspect I'm wrong, I'll be listening hard tonight haha!

He certainly was incognito. You must have gotten such a fright!

Wow! I almost didn't see him. Great shot! (and I would like to think he is the same toad, too :)
