Anybody for a cuppa? These ladies looked like they deserved a well earned rest and natter. Also today's word has sparked a big conversation in our house about the difference in meaning of anyone/anybody & someone/somebody - I've never even questioned it before and now I'm mulling it over. I'm off for a cuppa.....! 🙂
I just asked Mr Google and found that someone/somebody means an unspecified person with certain qualities eg someone to do my taxes and anyone/anybody is just an unspecified person.
Further down it said that someone/somebody is used in positive sentences and anyone/anybody is used in questions and negative sentences.
I think the difference is someone and anyone are a bit more formal but other than that they're interchangeable.

I'm none the wiser
