Our Hydrangea just started blooming.and I have always found the lacecap version to be so delicate and lovely, especially compared to the mophead hydrangeas, which are much more commonplace around here. Happy Memorial Day!
I am no horticulturist but I do not ever recall seeing this variety before, though we have the more common hydrangea. I hope to see this come to our area, too.
@sanfil Thank you, Sandra. @dauber While these are no nearly as common as the mophead, I am starting to see more and more of them around here. @groovygirlrn Thanks, Sheri. @auroralinda Thanks you, Aurora.
@allisonrap Thanks,Allison - I've had this one for 19 years and it changes color from time to time. It has produced pink blossoms in the past but this year they are all this lovely shade of blue!
Great shot and fabulous colours. I love hydrangeas too. Every year I try to grow them in our garden but they struggle. Too dry where we live. Pots are better ... as long as I don't forget to water them every day in Summer :)
@kellc Thank you! @wordpixman I love your title - very clever. I love them too! @sabine Thanks, they struggle in our climate also unless planted in the shade, even then, they wilt every day in the summer and need lots of water! @yrhenwr Thank you, David! @marieooi Thanks, Marie!
This is also my favorite variety of hydrangea, and you have captured this beautifully. It's lovely with it half open, and I hope you take another when this bush is in full bloom. I haven't seen one since my yard when I lived in Cape Cod.
