Thousands of these flowers grow wild all over the sand dunes of Tulum's beaches. They were quite lovely and I find their paper-like appearance rather pleasing. And luckily for me, this flower was being visited by a bee while I captured it with the Nikon, a nice bonus.

this flower is fascinating. Looks 'homemade' because each petal appears to have a 'seam' in the middle with little gathers on either side. Very lovely photo.
