This was the unofficial nickname for the Opel GT, a two seat sports car made by Opel, a German division of General Motors. Produced from 1968-1973, the Opel GT had a body made by the French subcontractor Brissonneau and Lotz. The Opel GT looked very similar to the C3 Corvette Stingray that was being sold by Chevrolet at the same time, hence the nickname. In reality, it offered half the performance and all the styling of the Corvette for half the price. This 1973 Opel GT was very nicely restored. I always wanted one of these when I was a kid! @jcarrollphoto I'm very honored that my images inspired you, Jim!
@sandier Sandie, I attend a local car show held on the first Sunday of each month in my town - there are about 600 vintage cars at each show - it is like being a kid in a candy store!
Wonderful shot
