Good Vibrations by soboy5

Good Vibrations

"I love the colorful clothes she wears
And the way the sunlight plays upon her hair
I hear the sound of a gentle word
On the wind that lifts her perfume through the air
I'm pickin up good vibrations
She's giving me excitations..."

Good Vibrations was Brian Wilson's masterpiece. Released as a single in 1966, it became the Beach Boys' third number one hit.

This 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray with the 427 tripower motor putting out 435 horsepower was General Motor's masterpiece also. When the side pipes roar, this baby gives out really good vibrations. I'd like to think Brian was thinking of this car when he wrote Good Vibrations.

For those of you into statistics, this is my 18th image in a row that I have matched to a popular song title (and my 8th car image in a row matched to a Beach Boys song). I may continue this series for a few more images, but we are all done with Beach Boys songs as of today.

@jackie8 Thanks, Jackie. I don't do much in the way of post processing - I believe a little goes a long way in post. I use a free program called photoscape for all my post processing. My Nikon's picture controls are set to vivid and I shoot in JPEG fine. In post, I will slightly tweak contrast, sharpness and sometimes exposure and saturation. I never use HDR and I never shoot in RAW. I like to keep it simple.

@soboy5 - thanks Danny! I think there is a lot of snobbery regarding RAW, but a couple of professional photographers told me recently they don't use it and one has been a wedding photographer for over 20 years, doing very nicely thank you kindly! Although I do use HDR, it is easily overdone (I've been guilty of that) and it's good to get as much right 'in camera' as possible..... whatever you're doing, it works and you have a unique style!

fantastic clarity and POV! awesome capture!

I can remember when "Good Vibrations" came out. At first I wasn't sure if I liked it. It was so different from previous Beach Boys hits. But the more I heard it, the more I liked it. This baby screams! Personally I think the Sting Ray was the the best of all the Vette body styles.
