These apartment buildings are located across the street from Gramercy Park. An added feature of living here is the owners of each apartment are allowed to purchase a membership into the park, which comes with a key to the gate - the only way into the park. Apartments start in the low seven figures and park membership is currently $7000 per year plus another $350 each year for the key. The locks and keys are changed annually. The keys can not be duplicated and the charge for a lost key starts at $1000 for the first time and goes up from there.
I liked the geometric shapes of the rooflines here. Best viewed large.
These photos all look so fab in b & w. Viewed large one can really see the textures and appreciate the shapes and angles so much more. Pretty pricey, but that's NYC!
Very strong composition, great lines and contrasts! Sounds like a high cost of living... and they have window air conditioning units! I guess if you can afford to live there, you can afford the luxury of park exclusives!
An very awesome shot, love the pov! The B&W is really perfect here, as it avoids an distraction... and your eye just goes right up the water tank!!! Perfect shot! FAV!
@gooner46 Thank you for the tip, Chris - I wanted to make that white line disappear, but unfortunately, I use a very rudimentary editing program called photoscape and it does not offer "refine edge" or anything similar. Manhattan real estate prices are beyond insane.
Rental costs seemed to be the number one topic with New Yorkers - Manhattan prices are crazy.
