When I tell you that I woke up to a winter wonderland on day three of the ice storm, I was not exaggerating. Every tree and shrub in my neighborhood was coated with a mixture of snow, sleet and ice. This is one of my favorite trees in my yard and it looked magnificent after it received its coating of frozen precipitation. Please view this enlarged to get the full effect.
The ice storm is long gone, the roads totally clear and yesterday's high was 66 degrees. Only the memory and the photographs linger. I truly hope we are done with all this winter weather.
Tomorrow we go back to my chronological NYC study.
Love the starkness. Snow on trees is so gorgeous to me. It melt off the trees here pretty fast and then sticks around on the ground. Hope you all are doing ok this time around in the weather.
