On the hunt

I had a lay in this morning so it was down to the local lake for a bit of exercise midmorning.
I was pleased when there were not many people about but I think it will be different over the bank holiday weekend.
I was also pleased when this young heron, who has not yet learnt to fear people and dogs, landed close in front of me.
He was not the most successful fisherman on the lake though and missed more than he caught. I also missed when he did catch after waiting for almost an hour.
Can't get it right all the time I suppose
