Fellow Artist

Painting "plein air" is such a treat. He's inspiring me.
Such a wonderful talent.

My oh my! Indeed very inspiring. And he's left handed :D I always find that sooo interesting. My mom is mainly right handed. But for instance, she can not use the knife with her right hand. And I always stare at her when she is cutting bread or cabbage for salad or what else... And when I see tutors in videos who paint or draw with the left hand, I am amazed. I know it's no big deal. For left handers, it is normal. But to me it does seem a big deal. When I was in primary school, the communist regime would not accept children to use the left hand. And we had a colleague who is left handed. And she was so tormented by the teachers imposing her to write with her right hand. She is well off now and she is using her left hand :D in spite of the communist dogma :D

@monikozi my dad had his left hand tied to a chair n school to make him use his right one.

@theredcamera what a fab capture, I like what he's painting .

Do you know him,? If not, get to know him pronto!! He might have colours you don't!!

Fabulous. I have not tried painting outside. Maybe I shall this Summer now!

Great capture. Maybe I should try left handed and outside. I am sure it would change my painting style altogether - what could possibly go wrong!

@sherimiya @monikozi @30pics4jackiesdiamond @777margo @casablanca @wakelys Wouldn't you just love to have the gumption to paint outdoors where people see what your painting as you progress through the challenge? Left handedness seems to be a characteristic of artistic people, not to say right handed people aren't talented as well. I am left handed, very much so. I say the only thing I can do with my right hand is shift a car and paint the nails on my left hand. My mother would take things out of my left hand and put them in my right when I was very young, but could see my persistence at using my left. She told me of the horrors that children went through in times past to force writing with the right hand.
I was somewhat delighted to see he was left handed and thought, well natch! He was part of a group of amateur (I'm assuming} artist that get together every Thursday to practice their crafts, I so enjoyed talking with them.
Thanks for the great comments!

@theredcamera oh, i don't know what to say. Because one day i went out to draw a most beautiful house. But i did not paint. I only had my booklet and pencil and i was in a quiet spot, where passers by would not come near. It was an urban sketching exercise.
I think i would dare go out if i can be farther from too many eyes. And if it were a gang, it would be even nicer.

Wonderful shot and how nice to see this guy having the confidence to be painting outside for all around to watch.

Love the subject. Very nice photo. My hubby does not remember anyone making him write or eat right handed, but he does and yet all bigger muscle things he does left sided, batting, golfing, garden tools, etc.
