Summer was a great theme for this week...it has been HOT! Crafts included the ice cream cone "I", a sun mobile, footprint flip flops, and water color and glitter sunglasses. We did two beach sensory bins with rocks, sand, shells, starfish and sand dollars. I also used the opportunity to do some sequencing and sorting by size. We also made a watermelon sensory bag which doubled as a pretty cool sun catcher. We also worked on fine motor skills and counting with the poms in shells and math and letter skills using cut out ice cream cones and scoops. No summer theme would be complete without a trip to the beach and ice cream, so of course we did that as well. I love summer!
