"Q" is for Queen

This week was all about castles, crowns, dragons, knights, and royalty. Crafts included the Q queen, paper bag dragon puppets, and crowns (of course!). We did a fun activity where we talked about what a coat of arms is and we discussed what our family crest would have on it and painted one. We also played with play doh and made a castle, dragon, and dragon footprints. We did a fun activity after reading The Princess and the Pea where I hid a marble (pea) under one of three piles of couch cushions and the kids had to guess which one it was under after laying on them. We worked on patterns with jewels and math with crowns/jewels. We played "find the dragon" where I hid clues around the house and he had to follow the clues to find the dragon. We made our first true sand castle at the beach, complete with moat and feather flag and visited a park with a castle playground where the kids played palace with their friends. As always, lots of fun!
