Isn't he beautiful? What a wonderful way to greet the day ... A pale-headed rosella feeding on thistles...a wonderful backdrop for my early morning coffee,
I have never seen this bird before, to be honest I have not heard of them, must not be native around my part of the country.
The composition of this photo is wonderful. The muted colours of the bird against the green background studded with the soft flowers and the harsh barbed wire cutting through. Love it.
This is beautiful. And I echo Belinda's comments, this is a great shot, well composed. I love this place because I have learnt so much about how to frame photos etc. Love your photos, you live in an amazing part of Australia!
I had admired the thistle, although a weed, for several days on the fence of the bull paddock. The purple against the green as you say is eyecatching. I keep my garden fence line overgrown with weeds and native grasses just so these beautiful birds can come down and eat
@sugarmole@jennarichards Thank you both. I'd considered the thistle as a subject the day before. But the rosella pigging out on thistle seeds the next morning just had to be photo of the day.

He looks very pleased with himself doesn't he!
